LAMDA and RD Studios Film Festival 48hr Film Challenge Terms and Conditions.

(London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art hereby known as LAMDA).

By entering the LAMDA and RD Studios 48hr Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as the "Festival"), participants hereby agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

Challenge Duration and Film Length
The completed film must be no longer than five minutes and no shorter than three minutes, including titles and credits.

The film must be written and produced within the period between the Festival Start and End dates posted on our website. 

Title Card and Copyrights
The film must contain five seconds of black screen at the beginning, followed by five seconds of a title card containing the team’s name and the title of the film. This is included in the 3-5 minutes.  

All film locations, cast, music, and sound effects must have cleared rights for the film, online in perpetuity, worldwide. 

Submission
Completed films must be submitted before the posted end date and time, no later than 7PM, by uploading to a platform like YouTube or Vimeo, and sending the organisers an email link by the deadline.

Films must be set to 'downloadable' on the chosen platform for organisers to obtain a local copy.

Language
Films can be submitted in any language. The film must include English subtitles if the film is not in English.

Eligibility
You can only sign-up as Team Leader to The Festival if you are aged 18 or over. If participants within your team are under 18, they must obtain advance permission in written form from their parent or guardian. 

Judging and Decisions
The decision of the Judges shall be final and unchallengeable.

No correspondence will be entered into regarding the decisions made by the Judges.

Responsibility and Indemnity
Participants are responsible for all aspects of their film, including crew, cast, equipment, sets, and locations. Participants must secure all necessary agreements, releases, and permissions for the film and hereby indemnify LAMDA and RD Studios from any claims, costs, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation. Participants are responsible for any costs they incur during the filmmaking process. 

Cancellation or Changes by Organisers
In the event that the festival is cancelled or postponed or modified due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, public health emergencies), the LAMDA and RD Studios shall not be held accountable for expenses spent linked to the LAMDA and RD STUDIOS 48hr Film Festival.

Rights and Usage
LAMDA and RD Studios reserve the right to screen, exhibit, broadcast, or disseminate the completed film in any manner, including theatrical release, broadcast television, cable television, and the internet.

Participants grant LAMDA and RD Studios an in-perpetuity, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to promote, publish, sample, and sublicense the work.

Legal and Safety Compliance
Participants are responsible for ensuring that filming is carried out legally, safely, and considerately.

Participants must obtain all necessary permissions and adhere to local laws and regulations, especially concerning the use of weapons, uniforms, vehicles, and filming in public spaces.

Prizes and Travel
Prizes offered are not transferable, and there will be no alternative prizes provided.

Participants from outside the UK are welcome to enter, but travel and accommodation expenses for attending local events are not covered.

Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to adhere to a code of conduct promoting respectful and professional behaviour throughout the duration of the festival. This includes refraining from any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour towards other participants, organisers, judges, or any individuals involved in the festival. Any violation of the code of conduct may result in disqualification from the festival and/or further actions as deemed necessary by the organisers. By participating in the festival, individuals agree to abide by the code of conduct and uphold the values of inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect.

Updates and Amendments
Participants are responsible for keeping themselves informed of any updates or amendments to these rules.

By signing up for the LAMDA and RD Studios Film Festival 48hr Film Challenge, participants acknowledge their acceptance of these terms and conditions.
